    In 1969 I worked for Howvald shipyard in hamburg as a guest worker. I remember two of my German work mates taking me to see what I believe is the bunker you are referring to. I can remember seeing remains of u boats within the ruined bunker. My German friend informed me that the bunker was blown up from the inside, commandos? fixed explosives to the roof support columns inside the bunker as the RAF bombing could not destroy it. I question Commandos did this as I have doubts as to how they got there undetected. As I said earlier this was in 1969, the German employees all knew of this bunker. How come the u boats discovered in 1985? Is this the bunker that was within the area of Howvald Deuch Werk .

The entire cemetery is located within the "Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg", a city state and one of the 16 "Länder" that form the Federal Republic of Germany. Schleswig-Holstein is an adjacent "Land" to Hamburg's north in which also the city of Norderstedt is located.

    In 1985 the remains of 3 type XXI U-boats were found inside. U-2505, U-3004, and U-3506. They were buried when the pens were filled in with gravel.
